The Greek had gods for everything, the sky, the sea, the death and also for smaller things like seastorms and thieves. They had a few main gods, called 'the Olympians'. There were twelve of them, and the last main god is Hades, the god of death. He doesn't live on the Olympus, because he had tried to take it over, so now he lives in the underworld. There's also Hestia, she isn't an Olympian, but she does live there, because she is the goddess of domesticity and she is always sitting at the fireplace. There are stories telling all the gods but Hades were living on the Olympus, but it could also be that only the main gods were.
